The Matrix
The Matrix must have been the must see movie of 1999. Computer technology was relatively new and a movie of this sort has never been done before.
Keanu Reeves who plays Neo just started making name for him in the movie industry. Carrie-Ann Moss who plays Trinity had her big break due to this movie. Who can forget the ever most popular Laurence Fishburne that always brings spice to any story? However I have to add that he had a very small role in the story. This being said, wherever Fishburne finds himself in the movie, there will surely be talk about it.
The first time I saw this movie, I was in total awe. I absolute loved it. It was new, it was so relevant and it was exciting. People being transported in a techno work, was just so unheard of. It is action packed. Some fighting, computer wizz and nail biting tension all combined in one.
Who can forget the absolute best scene where Neo is dodging bullets. The scene played out in super slow motion and this was the beginning of an entire new revelation in movie making. This was the benchmark for things to come. Many other movies adapted to this style of filming since this scene came out.
This movie offers something for both woman and men. The boys would enjoy the tight figure hugging outfits of Trinity and the woman would adore the gorgeous Neo. This must have been the real reason why I saw the movie in the first place.
The movie idea is still every relevant today, for the story is revolved around hacking and people trying to catch the hacker. Today there are thousands of hackers world wide, some get caught and some move just under the radar. Then you get people who spend their lives, hunting and sniffing out people like that.
The dialogue of the story does not run into endless long discussions. It is to the point and it keeps you on your toes. The action scenes are out of this world. It is super human like, abilities never heard of. In my opinion that is made the movie so successful, the well thought out actions scenes and the most amazing special effects.
This is a must see movie. Even thought the movies were made in 1999, it is still relevant to today’s youth and people who love sci-fi.
